Presentation: Tweet"Rethinking Data for Intelligent Computing"
Each of us carries a portable data store between our ears. It contains everything we know and has capacity for everything we ever will know. It allows us to perform incredible feats of abstract reasoning, which still elude the most powerful machines with massive data sets at their disposal.
The human brain is subjected to many simultaneous, continuous streams of data. How does it represent them internally? How does it instantaneously extract their most relevant features? Can we build machines that can, with infinite attention spans, convert petabytes of data into insightful observations? In this talk, we will explore these questions, and how the answers might impact the future of computing.
